To mark the centenary of the 1916 Easter Rising, there are a series of events in Luxembourg

Saturday 16 April 2016

GAA tournament in Hostert featuring 12 teams, the tournament is the first round of the European Hurling and Camogie championships.   This is an all day event and a great opportunity to see an ancient sport. See flier below, more information on www.Luxgaa.lu

The day will round off with a music session in the Blackstuff from 21:00 on.

Lecture by Dr Fearghal McGarry in the Salle de Fêtes of the European School, Kirchberg.   Dr McGarry is a lecturer in Queens University Belfast and the author of “The Rising, Easter 1916”.

Doors open 19:00, the lecture will be preceded by an exhibition of Irish music and dance and followed by a reception hosted by the Irish Ambassador.

The Cinematheque (Place du Theatre, L-2613 Luxembourg) will show the film “1916 The Irish Rebellion”, narrated by Liam Neeson.   The film will run at 17:00, space is limited, tickets may be booked in advance via the cinematheque.

We are celebrating St Patrick’s Day this year with a Ceili in the Parish Hall in Gasperich (left of the church) on Saturday 19 March from 20.00 onwards

Ceol and craic and an excellent band for EUR10 (free for Comhaltas memebers)

The Summer Céilí

To celebrate the end of this year’s Irish Summer School, and to encourage all our pupils to put their new talents into practice there will be a free open air Céilí at the Black Stuff pub in Val de Hamm on Saturday  8th August  from 8.00pm.
