Dance Classes

Classes for children take place every Saturday afternoon at Old St Georges school in Weimershof given by Shauna Sweeney and Claire Fitzpatrick. Classes are streamed based on age / experience and start from 6 years of age.

Adult classes are held at Happy Fitness on Thursday evenings from 19h00 – 21h00 and are streamed according to experience. The classes are given by Claire Fitzpatrick.

Literary news for book lovers

Chapter One is opening a new bookshop in Howald above Eirelux called the Book Loft.

The official launch is on June 30.

They are also holding a children’s book day on Saturday July 2 in association with the publisher Usborne.

Terry Adams has published a new book ‘Paddy Alone’, that forms part of a trilogy about three generations of an Irish family from the early part of the twentieth century through the current era.

GAA tournament in Hostert featuring 12 teams, the tournament is the first round of the European Hurling and Camogie championships.   This is an all day event and a great opportunity to see an ancient sport. See flier below, more information on

Lecture by Dr Fearghal McGarry in the Salle de Fêtes of the European School, Kirchberg.   Dr McGarry is a lecturer in Queens University Belfast and the author of “The Rising, Easter 1916”.

Doors open 19:00, the lecture will be preceded by an exhibition of Irish music and dance and followed by a reception hosted by the Irish Ambassador.

The Cinematheque (Place du Theatre, L-2613 Luxembourg) will show the film “1916 The Irish Rebellion”, narrated by Liam Neeson.   The film will run at 17:00, space is limited, tickets may be booked in advance via the cinematheque.
